Young's 50g Tartaric Acid
Tartaric Acid is used to enhance the bouquet and flavours in wines. Also increases acid levels.
An essential ingredient in Elderflower Champagne.
Tartaric Acid (E334) is an essential element of country wine and champagne making, found naturally in many plants e.g. grapes & bananas. It is widely used to lower the pH of fermenting "must" to a level where many undesirable spoilage bacteria cannot live and also acts as a preservative after fermentation. Tartaric acid provides some of the tartness in the wine, along with citric and malic acids.
